This afternoon I went for a walk with my one year old son. About 10 feet from our driveway, a Mallard couple was enjoying the meltwater from a late but approaching spring. Mallards are often almost tame in city environments and there was no problem watching them from a few feet away. Today I went out to our summer house, mainly to check if everything was in order, and to fix one of the duck birdhouses.   I really began longing for summer the short while I was there. The forest where full of life, birds chattering and singing, row deers on the ice and a fox scurrying to shelter.
