White tailed Eagles

Last weekend Göran let me borrow his Eagle hide for a day. That ment getting in to the hide at Saturday evening, and exiting the day after. I must say I enjoyed it a lot. Göran routinely feeds the eagles with leftovers from a fish precessing plant. This time roughly a 100 kg was spread out som 40-60 m from the hide. White throated dipper

Today I decided to go to a small stream in the vicinity to try to get som pictures of a White throated dipper. I would suggest att long lens for this kind of photography because the Dipper can be quite shy. I used my trusty 300 mm f/2.8 IS with a 2x extender and since I couldn’t get closer than a 100 feet. The light was really bad so I had to crank upp the ISO really high (up to 10 000). Still it was nice to see this little winter bather...

A big hole

A big hole

This week I visited one of the many mines that exists in northern Sweden. While not the biggest (by far) still an impressive sight.  Fog and snow made it a bit more dramatic than usual =)   On my way home the light from the fading sun gave on one of the many bogs, I passed, a kind of reddish glow. I also found a small lake which had frozen over (probably for the first time this year).
