Sometimes you want the extra reach. In this particular case i only had the 300 f/2.8 paired with my 1dx mk II. The original image is not to impressive but i think that super resolution did a fantastic job of enhancing it. I could not read what was written on the rings though. This female Goose Hawk rested in a tree at the corner of my house. Not the best light but a fairly still target.

Trying the Canon 80D and the 300 f/2.8. A fairly good 480 mm f/2.8.

White tailed Eagle, Lovund, Norway 2018. 1dx and 300 f 2.8. Edited in PS 2024. New tools can really enhance your old images. This image was shot against a gray misty sky with no contrast. It was underexposed, and lifting shadows created too much noise. Thus discarded. Forward to 2024 and we have Enhance and Sky replacement in Lightroom and Photoshop. This is the original image from 2018. Edited in Lightroom
